Webinar is a web-based seminar, lecture or a workshop that done on the web. Participants can view the presentation with a virtual speaker and they can ask and respond to questions from the presenter. But it is still different from web meeting because of limitations in interactions.
Online presentation comes in slide shows, streaming audio/video and web-based chat and is commonly used in web conferencing. The participants can interact with the presenter through web phones and can see the presentation the moment they log on.
Webcast is a form of broadcast like it is done in television, except that this is done through the web not in TV. Here, there is very minimal or no interaction at all between the presenter and the participants since the participants are only entitled to listen to the announcement done by the presenter. Webcast can also be broadcasted to many people and can come in live or delayed/pre-recorded broadcast. Sometimes a Webcast is done prior to a web meeting. Another term for Webcast is Netcast.
Online collaboration is one of the most useful and commonly used types of web conference. It can be text-based, audio or combination of audio and text with live video feed. This kind of collaboration enables the participants to share their files and papers to one another, edit documents for some changes and also to upload pictures in real time. This gives them more freedom to interact with each other, other than viewing and speaking to one another online. There is no software required for downloading during web collaboration that is why this benefits people who work on different locations and have to meet instantly.
