Also, if you have an e-commerce site you'll need to think too that you'll not be able to add banner links to other popular sites, which will link you in popularity on the Internet, so others can visit you much more easily.
Issues such as network up time is important too, especially if you're want an e-commerce website. In the past, free web hosting sites took a beating from customers on how often their site would be up and accessible to the Internet community. Today, there are still problems with some web hosting service providers, but it has improved. However in truth, nothing compares to a paid hosting company, and their ability to remain online with their servers running at fully capacity. If every time someone goes to your www address, and the web site is experiencing technical difficulties, you'll loose clients by the bucket loads. Free web hosting companies are selling the space and bandwidth that they have left over, and often times their non-paying customers is not top priority.

In the end you'll need to know exactly what you'll be using your website for, and plan your web hosting with that thought in mind. It's not that free web hosting services are bad; it's just that they need to be used with the proper role in mind.
