Considering the fact that the Internet or World Wide Web is as large as it is, it is no wonder it is riddled with web sites. This collection of sites covers just about any conceivable area imaginable. All of these sites are hosted on specific computers called web servers, and they are all over the world. All of your HTML, and graphics are stored there, and this system is considered a web host. This hosting ensures that anyone that uploads their information on it gets a fast and constant Internet connection through their ISP. Web sites ranging from major enterprise to personal and family websites are covered by a web host, as there is no prerequisite.
Audio clips, Graphics, HTML files, and your email are all stored on your data storage space on the web server or host. Depending on what the web site will be used for will determine exactly what amount of data storage you will need for the site. It is said that having 100 pages of text is equivalent to 1 MB of storage; there are not too many web sites on the Internet however that only run text. There are countless sites that have graphics, and audio clips or video. This in turn, will make the requirement for more storage space necessary. The more you add to your site, such as special customer features or even forums makes needing more storage space a must as well. If there will be options for the viewers to download content, such as music files or video clips you will need much more storage space than a regular text based site.

The Cairo conference ... is about a complicated web of education and employment, consumption and poverty, development and health care. It is also about whether governments will follow where women have so clearly led them, toward safe, simple and reliable choices in family planning. While Cairo crackles with conflict, in the homes of the world the orthodoxies have been duly heard, and roundly ignored.

Another very important thing to consider is the amount of data transfer that you are receiving. This is the amount of information that is being fed through the Internet connection. Much of this information transfer is allotted to the use of your email, and the traffic to your site. Basically for every 100 pages of text that a person views on your site, 1MB of data transfer is used, if ten people read the same information 10MB is used. This is how things can add up quite quickly. It is the size of your site that will determine just how much data transfer you will require. This is not however, the only determining factor as to how much transfer you will need. If you are sending files or video and audio clips this will chew up transfer rates rather quickly. It is easy to go through 1.5 GB of transfer, of you have 100 visitors downloading a file that is 1.5 MB in size. Now if you compound that into a monthly total, you have just gone through 45MB of transfer. It is said that virtual reality sites, and flash web sites are the ones that use the most transfer of all possible sites so it might be a good idea to keep this in mind when getting a package from the server.
A web address can be called a domain name, and it is used for your web site and the use of your email. You can register a name provided that the network solution or server does not already take it. It is also possible for you to transfer any name that is already active by a web host to a network solution specialist. Pointing the domain name to your hosting account from a network solution account is relatively easy. It is also possible for you to have multiple name extensions for domains under a network solution. It is very important in this day and age to protect brand identity, as so many people these days are setting up many domains at one time. This ensures that there is no piracy in the hosting realm, and keeps traffic going to everyone's sites smooth without confusion. With the amount of traffic these days on the Internet it is very important to have your domain registration protected. A program called Domain Protect ensures that there is no unauthorized name transfers in the domain itself. This is a very important feature to have, when setting up a registered domain name for the Internet. Make sure you do your homework when looking into a host, or web server, otherwise you may find many problems down the road that will leave you without any traffic to your sites.
