Educational Podcasting, Content on the Go: Podcasting can be a great way for students to be able to hear lectures and get their lessons on demand. A student can now watch and listen to the lecture from home when ill instead of missing class and content. This can also be extremely helpful for those students who have small children and cannot always get into the classroom. Viewing a Podcast is a great way to get a copy of a lost syllabus instead of having to track down a professor or other student to get one. Lectures could be digitally recorded and added to the database where students can use their computers and/or iPods to get the proper class Podcast. This can also benefit students with disabilities who may need to review the material multiple times. Podcasting can profit students with a new way to study for tests. For us necessity is not as of old an image without us, with whom we can do warfare; it is a magic web woven through and through us, like that magnetic system of which modern science speaks, penetrating us with a network subtler than our subtlest nerves, yet bearing in it the central forces of the world.

Communication Between Teachers and Students and Students and Students: Because a Podcast can be anything visual or audio one can record any subject and make it available. A recorded lesson, a foreign language lecture, or a demonstration of the sciences or math can be easily made into a Podcast for student viewing. Teachers can make Podcasts to communicate with students on special projects, new material, or when to expect tests. They can also put up daily assignment sheets and homework related questions and answers. Students can utilize Podcasting to communicate their needs to the Teacher. They can request information when sick, watch the lecture and get new assignments and material from home when needed. Students of a particular class can also communicate with each other. This is a great way to coordinate problem solving and help others who might not completely understand the material. It is a simple free tutoring lesson that can be downloaded by students to help them figure out specific material.
Creative Outlet: Podcasts can be easily created on any computer. You can use any tool such as Garageband or iMovie. A student or teacher can publish, record, and produce their own Podcasts in their specific area of expertise. This allows one to be creative with style, music, and content. Students can make short movies or skits and add in sound effects and jingles. This is great for those students wishing to share their creative abilities with others. Many students can download their artwork to share with other students and teachers. This will allow them to make a video of their pieces and add to the artist's work. Students and teachers can make a series of Podcasts that are sequels to each other on a specific topic. This will allow one to become more creative and give an outlet for that expression. This is also great practice for those students who do not like speaking in front of others. It can help them to build more confidence as people enjoy their Podcasts and over come their fear of public speaking.
