If you have ever wanted to make a Podcast, what you will need to remember is that there is an audience that will listen to or watch, the broadcast. You must make sure that it is interesting, and that you can capture their attention. Not only do you have to capture it, you have to find a way to keep it. Now that Podcast has taken the planet by storm, you need to jump on the bandwagon. If you have ever wanted your own talk show, or radio station, and did not know how to go about it Podcasting is the way. If you have a band, or you are a musician and you are trying to build a larger fan base. Podcasting is the way to go. It may be as simple as you are already a radio host, but you wish to extend to your audience different material than what you are told to play. Whatever the reason, you can be sure that Podcasting is the way to go.
So now that you have decided to go with Podcasting, what types of ideas should you go with to offer great and original material? You need to be unique to stay on top; this will mean having an edge. The key to success in the new aged industry of Podcasting is to be as unique as possible. How can you be sure that everyone will tune into your show of music, if there are hundreds or thousands of music shows already up and running? One excellent way to keep the audience interested is to have the duo of a man and a woman. This combination seems to have a great chemistry, and always has a sense of entertainment. By having the combo of a man and woman, you have to distinct personalities, and host behaviors. This makes for a great mix, and can lead to some very funny and entertaining moments. There are many male, female combos on radio shows today that make the show very successful.

Another great and unique way to draw attention to the show is by the use of humor. If you have a great sense of humor, and you feel you can make an audience laugh Podcasting a talk show would be an excellent choice. Some sort of George Carlin type daily show would be a wonderful choice. Many people find these life antidotes very amusing and they find similarity to what they go through on a daily basis. This is a sure fire way to keep people interested. By adding humor to someone's day, you lighten the load of tension and stress. This can be especially effective if you have the show aired early in the morning, if you put the show on air at say between 6-8 am you are sure to catch the early riser that is on their way to work for the day. By giving them something to laugh at, you increase the chance of a productive and lighthearted day for them.
Perhaps you would be interested in a sports blog based Podcast, with insightful information on your favorite player or team. The general public loves sports, what better way for you to reach out to them, and hold their attention. You could throw in scores from the night before, roster information, injuries, stats; you could even try your hand at interviewing players themselves. This will be very effective in keeping a crowd. The really interesting thing about this kind of show is that you could leave your URL and people could come and check out your web site, or any affiliation that you may have. This is an excellent marketing tool, and you can bet you will be making some sales with all that new traffic you are generating from your Podcast show. Try to keep your shows relatively short, and add as much content as you possibly can. With this you can then draw the listener to your web site, because they will want to learn more about the topic you have spoken about. It is very possible for someone on their way to work remembering your URL, and checking it out at work or when they get home.
