Local Bands: This is a hot commodity in Podcasting. It is hard to share music with others when the band is local. A Podcast is just what you need. You can interview the band for others to hear. Many people cannot get the college radio station or are not around when their favorite local bad is featured. This is a great way to give the fans of your hometown what they want all the time. If you are lover of the local bands in the area ask if you can put a few of their tunes in a Podcast to get them some great reviews. You can even tape their concerts and make Podcasts of their live music as well. Do this with all the local bands in your area and you will never be board. Not to mention it could make you some money promoting if the bands like what you do for them. Most of the people in a town love to be able to promote their own. Providing them with all the latest news, where, and when the bands are going to play, will make your Podcast a success.
Local Restaurants and Bars: Using your hometown, as a Podcast mecca for entertainment and food, is a prizewinner. There are local bars and restaurants in every town and city. Make up food reviews and Podcast your favorite places and the dishes you ate. Talk about the staff and how and what your overall experience was. There is even room for a Podcast on cleanliness and any other possible part of the food industry. To do a Podcast on the town bars and entertainment establishments you will want to find a few things to focus on. There are so many possibilities with this type of Podcasting. Focus your Podcast on the bar staff. You can talk about which establishments have the best bar staff and customer service. Even the bars that make the best drinks or do the fancy tricks can be great Podcast material. You can talk about which pubs serve food as well as have a great nightlife. There is a lot to be said about Podcasting for the public interest.

Historical or Points of Interest: Depending on where you live you might have some great historical landmarks that would be a major interest for those who live there and visitors. Things you could Podcast about are landmarks, bridges, buildings, or parks. To make a Podcast on points of interest focus more on museums, city hall, beaches, and places to eat and rest. This will allow people coming into your town to be able to find all the things that they can enjoy seeing. Make sure to specify where the hot spots are located and how to get there easiest. For historical sites Podcast about where they came from and how long they have been an important part of your town.
These are just a few possibilities of the great many that one can Podcast about in your town. Even the smallest of towns get visitors and need to find information for passers by to find what is great about your town. Podcasting is one of the best ways to bring knowledge and publicity to your town any time.
