What to do When Your Podcast Doesn't Sell

If you have made a Podcast and cannot get anyone interested in it, then you might need to consider how you have marketed it. Just because you have made a Podcast does not mean that it will sell itself to the world alone. You will need to invest time and effort into making it worth something for others if you want to make it money wise. There can be several reasons why your Podcast is not selling. It could be your marketing strategies or that you have no promotion what so ever on your Podcast product. It can also be that you did not put enough time and effort into your Podcast and no one is interested in wasting the money. Which ever the reason is you will want to think long and hard about how you intend to fix it.

The first thing you will want to consider is the Podcast itself. Ask yourself if you would buy this and if you found it completely informative. If the answer is yes, then at least you know it is not that. If the answer is no, then you will need to plan out your Podcast product better and having something of real value to offer others. Make sure you speak to others and get their input if your material is working correctly and if you have made an awesome piece that is worth subscribing to. If you have great content and there is absolutely nothing wrong with your Podcast, make sure that there is a market for what you are selling. These are the first things to look at when your Podcast does not seem to be getting any hits at all. When it is all said and done you will be glad you went back and checked all of this out. Even if you found that all was right in the world there is a good chance you might have taken the time to make your Podcast better.

 Historical Quote
The delicate, invisible web you wove
The inexplicable mystery of sound.
—T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

The next step in figuring out what will help sell your Podcast is going to your website. It is important to analyze what type of worth that your site actually has. You do not want a site made up of all ads and about buying. No one is interested in reading about why they should buy. The web site needs to be a friendly place where people can go to get high quality information that is rich with content. You need to make sure people know what you are all about, quality. Make sure that first and foremost your site is easy to navigate through an people can get back to your home page with ease from any point of there search. People are looking for quick and free answers to many common issues that go along with the subject you have chosen to work in. You will also want to look at your graphics and make sure that they are not too much or take too long to download. If someone is trying to look at what you have and they cannot easily access it there is a high probability that they will just leave your site all together before they even know there is a Podcast.

Look through your Web site and make sure that it is simple and easy to read and all the information has relevance to your product and/or service in some for or another. You will want to make sure there is a link on every page to your actual Podcast and also give a preview of your Podcast for people to look at. This will have them know what to expect when listening and/or viewing your Podcast. You can also add a deal for those who are visiting your Web site as a form of savings. Many times it may be your price so play around with out taking the actual value away from your Podcast. If you are charging $39.99 originally then you could offer a coupon for a 10% discount or temporarily offer the price to $29.99. Sometimes you will have to get less for what you are selling at first until you get the proper feed back on your Podcast. As you build your sales and testimonials you will be viewed as someone with high quality Podcasts worthy of buying.
