Wireless Pinhole Camera

I have been into wireless surveillance cameras since I was little. I actually got my first wireless pinhole camera when I was 12. It was at the height of the Cold War, or at least long enough before the end that spy technology still seemed like the neatest thing out there. I was into it all. I built an alarm system with a breadboard kit. It would stop my sister from entering my room, or at least irritate her with a loud beep when she did. I set up a tin can telegraph with one of my friends, and we used it to communicate whenever we could. But the wireless pinhole camera was the best.

Part of the problem is that I have a bit of a voyeuristic streak in me. I think that it is more and more common nowadays. As wireless surveillance systems are put up everywhere, most of us want a piece of the action. On the one hand, we resent being spied upon by the government, as well as by banks and other private institutions. On the other hand, we want the power that they have. We want to be able to see everything that everyone does. We all want a wireless pinhole camera on every corner to record the actions of our neighbors. We want a God's eye view into the secret lives that surround us.

 Historical Quote
If our web be framed with rotten handles, when our loom is well nigh done, our work is new to begin. God send the weaver true prentices again, and let them be denizens.
—Elizabeth I (1533–1603)

It wasn't too long until I started leaving my wireless pinhole camera in various places. Wireless pinhole cameras are very easy to hide. They are so small that they can be obscured by any bush. As long as they are entrenched enough for a curious dog not to find them, you have very little risk of losing one. I even upgraded to a wide angle camera so that I could catch all of the action on a certain crowded city street simultaneously.

Soon, however, this was not enough for me. I began to take my wireless pinhole camera to parties, and clandestinely used it to spy upon my friends. I would records secret conversations. I even bought a wireless night vision camera that I would use to monitor my yard when the sun was down. What had begun as a casual interest in spy technology has become an obsession. I was even getting paranoid. Somehow, the power of having a wireless pinhole camera had gone to my head. I could not go without knowing what other people were doing when I wasn't watching.
